who you are
As an absolute non-negotiable top priority, we need self-starters who are really passionate about sustainability, risk, emissions, nature and all other ESG related topics. You need to be excited about delivering amazing quality pieces of work that exceed our clients’ expectations.
We are a small company so we need people who can jump straight in, be proactive, use their own initiative and bring fresh ideas to the team. Ideally you will have a background in the energy industry or in mining, as those are the areas where we focus our work.
If you have worked in a consultancy or freelance roles before, then we want to hear about this, and how you pushed to seek out new opportunities and exciting ways of helping your clients.
We work remotely, so being really confident in the use of software tools to collaborate and work on joint projects is super important to us. We use Microsoft Teams, Miro and Monday.com among others. We are open to part-time working so please indicate your preference for days / hours when you contact us.
what we need
We are looking for support across a number of functions within the business and are keen to hear from you if you think you could help with some (or all!) of the following:
-
Emissions accounting and forecasting for complex industrial projects – really getting into the detail and nitty gritty on complex projects
-
Emissions reduction planning, integrating technologies and behavioural changes – what ideas can you bring? Can you challenge convention?
-
Impact, risk and opportunity reviews and setting of meaningful strategies to enable companies to improve their ESG / sustainability / emissions activities
-
Biodiversity and wider environmental advisory
-
Reporting to sustainability frameworks i.e. CSRD, TCFD, GRI, etc.
-
Delivery of papers, workshops and educational sessions on climate and sustainability – do you enjoy having a good chat with people and delivering at conferences?
-
Business development and client support to attract and support new and existing clients – can you figure out great solutions to a client’s problems and present it in a coherent way?
things are getting pretty exciting and busy here at sustain:able and we are looking for people to come and join us!
to apply
There are lots of areas in which we are open to getting support, so we want to hear from you. Please include a short covering letter (max one A4 page) describing what you can bring to our company and how you approach your work, plus a short CV and a link to your LinkedIn profile.
Send this to joinus@esgable.com
We will initially look to work with you on a contract basis with a view to building up our team with permanent employees as we grow.
You do need to have the ability to work in the UK, as we do not support visa applications. We are a remote based team and we do expect the occasional travel to clients’ offices, industry events, and for team meetups.
We look forward to hearing from you!
who we are
sustain:able was set up a few years ago by two ex-oil and gas geoscientists who wanted to provide relevant, fit-for-purpose and meaningful sustainability, ESG and emissions advice to the oil and gas, wider energy and mining sectors. Our team are from those industries, so we understand how they work, and that remains our unique point of difference in this space.
While we need fossil fuels, while we build new renewable power sources, and while we mine for the minerals critical for the energy transition, sustain:able wants to make these industries the best they can be for people and planet, while also being commercially attractive and reducing their risk to investors.
