Competition Terms and Conditions:

  1. Competition is open only during OEUK conference 8am - 4pm on Tuesday 17th September 2024. 

  2. Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary to win a prize. 

  3. To enter scan the QR code provided to enter details online (www.esgable.com/oeuk-comp) or hand one of your business cards with the answer written on the back to a sustain:able representative at the sustain:able SME stand.

  4. One prize only is available for the person whose guess is closest to the correct answer as calculated by sustain:able

  5. Calculation methodology: 

    • Emissions have been calculated for return trips using the ground distance of travel (Kings Cross Station to Aberdeen Station for rail travel, and London Heathrow to Aberdeen Dyce for flying. 

    • Emissions factors per passenger, per kilometre, were used from 2024 UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting, utilising the factors for National Rail and Domestic Flights (including associated well-to-tank (WTT) emissions and radiative forcing (RF) for flights). 

    • The answer is the difference in emissions (as measured in in kgCO2e) between a return trip by rail versus flying. 

    • This answer is represented by the number of jelly babies in the jar at sustain:able’s SME stand at the OEUK conference. 

  6. The winner will be the person who answers closest to the correct answer (as determined by sustain:able).

    • If more than one person is closest to the correct answer, the winner will be selected at random from those people.

    • Full calculations will be available on request once winners are announced. 

  7. Winner will be announced on 30th September 2024 at 3pm UK time on LinkedIn with the correct answer and winner’s name and company. 

  8. The winner will have until 5pm UK time on Thursday 31st October 2024 to commit to undertaking the Wayfinder assessment.

  9. The winner is not obliged to undertake the Wayfinder assessment, in which case the prize will remain unclaimed and no alternative winner will be selected. 

  10. The decision of sustain:able in selection of the winner is final.

  11. Prize is a free Wayfinder general assessment for winning person’s company, valued at around £4,000. 

    • The Wayfinder general assessment comprises >100 questions to determine best practice across a range of ESG (environmental, social and governance) topics.

    • To undertake a Wayfinder general assessment, sustain:able use a combination of publicly available information (e.g. website, annual reports, sustainability reports) and confidential information provided by the company.

    • Therefore, confidentiality and contractual agreements must be completed between sustain:able and the winner’s company to enable the Wayfinder assessment to take place.

    • Detailed assessments of specific ESG frameworks (e.g. TCFD, ISSB, etc.) are not included.

  12. By entering, you consent to being contacted by us for marketing purposes and also consent to having your name announced on LinkedIn and our company blog as the winner of the competition.
